✨ Welcome to The Curious Mystic Corner
I've always been fascinated by the things we can't quite see, touch or explain. The little moments that make us stop and think, “Hmm… there's got to be more to this!”
My journey has taken me through Reiki, energy work, spirituality and, more recently, the fascinating world of past life therapy. Along the way, I've discovered that the human story can be far more mysterious, colourful and surprising than we sometimes imagine.
Now, I'm inviting you to come along for the ride.
This blog isn't about telling you what you must believe. It's about exploring ideas, experiences and questions with an open mind — and perhaps having a little fun along the way.
We'll wander through the world of past lives, memories, healing, intuition, energy and those wonderfully strange experiences that make us wonder whether there is more to life than meets the eye.
Some subjects may make you nod knowingly.
Others might make you raise an eyebrow.
And occasionally, you may think, “She's definitely been drinking too much tea!” ☕😂
That's okay.
I'm not here to have all the answers. I'm here because I'm curious — and because I believe sometimes the most interesting journeys begin with one simple question:
“What if?”
So grab your favourite drink, make yourself comfortable and step into this little corner of the curious, mysterious and wonderfully unexpected.
Welcome to The Curious Mystic.
Let's see where the journey takes us... ✨
As we discuss herbal teas and infusions, we also open up a more personal conversation through a book ^Mothers Dilema" about the dilemmas mothers may face. If you are a mother who would like to talk about your own experiences before or after reading the book, please feel free to discuss them with us. After all, therapy is about sharing, understanding, and support. :)
My Reiki Journey
My Reiki journey began some 26 years ago. I was eager at the start, but I struggled quite a bit with my dantian, drawing in energy and Hatsurei-ho, especially the meditating part.
I practised for a while and then I gave up, as I had a major life-changing experience in my life. I put Reiki completely on the back burner and never thought of it again for some time.
Then, in the later years, for around 12 years, it became an on-and-off practice. Then, all of a sudden, one morning, feeling very tired and ill, I sat still on my bed and, just like that, practised Kenyoku, followed by Hatsurei-ho.
Everything fell into place.
I found my hara straight away, and what had once felt like drawing in energy came naturally too. Bit by bit, I started believing in myself and Reiki too.
For some reason, I was perhaps blaming Reiki for the major change in my life, but maybe I was blaming myself and looking to put the blame somewhere else.
Looking back at everything that has happened in my life, I now understand what positivity is.? I was taught that Reiki is only positive energy, so where was the negative coming into my life from!
TToday, I feel that Reiki practice is deeply neutral and, in many ways, unfathomable. The energy that flows within is beautiful, bringing a profound sense of well-being. You may not notice any particular sensations for years, so be patient with yourself.
I don't feel that I need to understand every part of Reiki. Perhaps some things are simply meant to be experienced rather than explained.
So don't give up. Keep on practising — not like I did, putting it away for many years.
I know this because I gave up myself. Looking back, I sometimes wonder how different my journey might have been if I had simply continued.
Don't be too hard on yourself if you don't feel the energy straight away. Don't worry if meditation is difficult, if finding your hara doesn't happen immediately, or if you question whether you are doing it correctly.
Keep practising.
With time, patience and experience, things can change in ways you may never have expected.
I came back to Reiki after all those years, and eventually something that once felt so difficult began to feel completely natural.
So my message to you is simple:
Don't give up on yourself. Keep practising, keep experiencing and allow Reiki to unfold in its own time.
I didn't do that the first time.
This time, I did.
Reiki for Men: You Don't Have to Be Spiritual to Try It
When you hear the word Reiki, what comes to mind?
Perhaps you imagine meditation, spirituality, crystals or something that simply isn't for you.
But Reiki doesn't have to be any of those things.
You don't have to be spiritual. You don't have to follow a particular belief system. And you certainly don't have to understand everything about Reiki before trying it.
Sometimes, you simply need a little time to switch off.
Life can be demanding. Work, family, finances, responsibilities and everyday pressures can leave very little time to stop and breathe. Many men are used to getting on with things, keeping busy and carrying on — even when they're tired or overwhelmed.
Taking time for yourself isn't weakness. It's part of looking after yourself.
Reiki offers a quiet space to slow down. During a treatment, you remain fully clothed and simply relax while the practitioner places their hands gently on or just above different areas of the body.
There is no pressure to talk about your personal life. There is nothing you have to prove. You don't even have to believe in Reiki.
Just come with an open mind and see how you feel.
I understand that Reiki can sound unfamiliar. I had my own questions and doubts when I first began my journey. Over time, through practice and experience, Reiki became something I valued deeply and eventually led me to write my own Reiki book.
My aim isn't to convince you of anything.
It's simply to offer you the opportunity to discover Reiki for yourself.
So, if you've ever thought, “Reiki isn't really for me,” perhaps it's worth asking:
Have I actually tried it?
You might be surprised.
